Muscle formation process

The number of satellite cells increases in muscle fibers, which leads to an increase in their density and number, and this activity is regulated by hormones called "growth factors", and these hormones stimulate the satellite cells that lead to an increase in the size of muscle fibers, and it has a very important benefit in integrating different types Of the molecules and nutrients in the actual muscle tissue, but the actual reason for muscle growth varies from person to person, for example genetics is a factor that has a major impact on muscle growth, in addition to age and gender. [1]

Ways to build muscle

Muscle can be built by: [2]

  • Attention to diet: People who want to build their muscles should eat a variety of foods, to get a healthy and strong body, so that their diet is not limited to foods rich in protein, such as eggs and meat, or foods that contain iron.
  • Exercising: Physical activities such as exercise, jogging, jumping, and cycling work to form muscles and make them stronger , in addition to any activity that a person likes to do, such as dancing and playing soccer, because he uses his muscles when doing these activities.

Muscle types

There are three unique types of muscles in the body of mammals: [3]

  • Skeletal muscles : Skeletal muscles alone contract; When a person thinks that he wants to contract these muscles, the nervous system directs these muscles to contract, so skeletal muscles are the types that are exercised when exercising, which a person can see and feel, and the skeletal muscles are linked to the skeleton, and they are in the form of pairs; So that the first muscle works to move the bone in a certain direction, and the other muscle moves it again to the other side.
  • Smooth muscles : Smooth muscles have the ability to stretch and maintain pressure for long periods of time, and they contract involuntarily, because the nervous system automatically controls them, and these muscles are found in the digestive system, bladder, blood vessels, airways, and in the womb. In females, the stomach and intestine.
  • Cardiac muscle : This muscle is only found in the heart, and it can expand in a limited way, and involuntarily, like smooth muscles, and endurance and stability are the most important features of this muscle.
