the heart

The heart is the muscle on which the whole body depends, where the heart is the main organ in the circulatory system, and the heart pumps blood loaded with oxygen to all parts of the body by contracting regularly, and distributing through the blood vessels, and the heart consists of four main chambers and at each of these chambers. There is a valve, and in this article we will introduce you to heart valves.

Heart valves

The valves are passages through which blood passes from the heart to the body, and from the lungs to the heart, and the valve consists of several stiff rings and flexible leaves that move in a way that allows them to close and open. It does not turn back, and the four heart valves are:

Mitral valve

The mitral valve is one of the most important valves in the heart, and this valve is located in the left atrium. It is the place designated for blood transfusion from the lungs and loaded with oxygen. Where the heart takes a percentage of it, and the rest of it is pumped to the whole body, and diseases that affect this valve are considered dangerous.

Tricuspid valve

The tricuspid valve is called; Because it consists of three valves, and this valve is located in the right half of the heart between the right ventricle and the right atrium, and this valve prevents the return of blood to the right ventricle, as well as prevents the opposite movement of blood between the two chambers of the heart located between them, and there are many diseases that affect this valve, such as ventricular regression Right instead of walking in its normal course, which causes major and dangerous complications.

Pulmonary valve

It is also called the meniscus valve, and this valve is located between the pulmonary artery and the right ventricle, and the pulmonary valve has three openings in its structure, and the role of this valve is to receive blood from the lung and transport it to the heart, as it carries oxygen-bearing blood from the heart to the lung.

Aortic valve

This valve is the place where oxygenated blood collects, so blood is pumped from the heart to the rest of the body's systems.

The most important problems faced by valves

Heart valve diseases are considered one of the most dangerous diseases, and valve diseases are defined as the occurrence of a defect or defect that leads to weakness of the heart valves, and thus their inability to do their work as minute blood passages, and these diseases may occur as a result of the following:

  • Failure to close the valve completely, and this problem occurs in those who suffer from heart defects resulting from problems during childbirth.
  • Valve blockage, as a result of the accumulation of excess fat and high level of cholesterol in the blood, which forms an obstacle to the passage of blood, and this problem may result in heart death.
  • Valve stenosis, and it may occur as a result of a birth defect, or the occurrence of an acquired heart disease, which leads to the occurrence of diseases in the heart and other organs in the body, as a result of the imbalance in the work of the heart.
